| Get bandwidth optimization using the JAGUAR ISP proxy cache solution. |
|
Today’s Internet environment is rapidly evolving into one that offers a high-bandwidth environment as the subscriber line bandwidth is being expanded from 10M to 100M and even 1G while video streaming services such as YouTube become increasingly more popular all over the world. Some of the world's more renowned research institutes are forecasting that video traffic rates will continuously increase and it will take up two-thirds of the total traffic volume by 2014. To solve the issue of rapidly increasing video traffic, ISPs have considered and tried many ways: expanding the lines (the most traditional solution), CDN service, expanding the origin servers, QoS and cache.
However, the ISPs could not get the desired effects using the above-mentioned ways; the quality of video streaming service was not guaranteed and the bandwidth at bottleneck sections was not reduced enough. In this instance, the most effective solution will be to overcome the functionalities and performance limitations of cache products.
ARA Networks provides the JAGUAR 5000, a cache server which provides the world’s No. 1 performance and stability among other competitors’ cache servers and the JAGUAR MDC, a brand-new cache architecture which overcomes the functionalities and performance limitations of the previous cache products. With these excellent solutions, you can maximize improvement of the subscriber line bandwidth.
For the JAGUAR 5000, multiple JAGUAR 5000s can be installed in the section where the line bandwidth is less than 10G and video traffic and Web content is transmitted within the ISP. Therefore, the video download speed is increased and the line bandwidth is subsequently decreased.
The JAGUAR MDC is suitable for network providers such as ISPs, rather than those service providers who are seriously concerned about the overall size of line bandwidth. In most caches, the data storage functions and service functions are integrated into one single device, causing heavy loads upon the cache when too much traffic occurs. However, to overcome the functionalities and performance limitations of caches, the JAGUAR MDC separates the data collection and storage functions from the service functions and processes all the functions.

JAGUAR5000
ARA Networks JAGUAR products are high performance content delivery solutions that meet the growing bandwidth demands of ISPs networks. By deploying JAGUAR throughout the network, web content can be stored and served locally. This will considerably reduce network congestion and bandwidth. Installing JAGUAR opposed to additional wan connections can accelerate your network, provide cost savings and offer a quick return on investment ROI.

JAGUAR MDC
ARA Networks’ JAGUAR MDC is suitable for those ISPs who have their networks and are in trouble with rapidly increasing video traffic and Web traffic levels. If an ISP introduces the JAGUAR MDC, to enhance the user experience of the Internet, the Collector and the MDC Farm at the sections where the line bandwidth should be reduced or the largest volume of data can be collected. Generally, the sections are the IX sections, including the boundaries of foreign networks as well as backbone networks. The Collector and the MDC Farm collect and saves the video content. The Redirectors 1, which are distributed and installed to each region, delivers the content saved in the local cache disk to users. If the local cache disk has no content, the Redirector receives the content saved in the MDC Farm and then delivers the content to users. The MDC Farm saves and shares large content such as the video content in the central sharing storage of tens or hundreds TB, maximizing the Hit Ratio and highly reducing overall the bandwidth.

* Redirector Type 1: A cache server, indicating the JAGUAR 5000 provided by ARA Networks, which supports the MDCP protocol that can interwork with the MDC Farm.
* Redirector Type 2: A cache agent for PC, provided by ARA Networks. It is a kind of software installed in the user’s PC, interworking with the MDC Farm to provide high-quality video streaming services.
